A picture before it gets messy...

Another pic of the end room before the kids get their hands on it

Yet another image of the end room - you can just imagine a nice 8´ wide screen there, can´t you....

End room now in a fit state to enjoy - kids, friends and dog doing so!

Timber wrapped in velvet, and joined - edges to be tidied later....

The cloth is white blackout cloth, bought from the local market. Painted with 2 coats of grey matt emulsion. You can see the frame ready to be fitted with the cloth.

Here´s the screen with the cloth attached - make sure you have help when doing this!

Here´s a corner once the cloth is in place.

These are the kitchen legs used to fix to the bottom plate.

Side view, showing the inch and a half packing I needed to add to this side to account for the bend in the wall!!

The screen, now in place. Wall was curved and not vertical, so some shims needed to be added to keep everything straight. Copper tube resting on top is to be a curtain rail for when the screen´s not in use.

Here´s the mount without cables, in a sort of "half way" position.

Cables in place (temp - they will be clipped in to place). In the "down" position. Imagine the ceiling is where the clampy bit at the top is.

Here it is in the "up" position, for when not in use. The rest of the tube disappears up in to the ceiling space.

Here´s a close up of one of the brackets holding the screen on the wall.

Hole cut in ceiling (fibreboard fixed to joists, hence the timber battens to cover the joints). Used this to get access for running cables, which were poked up from three directions and eventually grabbed and pulled through.

Here it is in it´s up position. Still not clipped the cables in place properly, or I´d show you the back....

....And here it is in the down position. Possibly a little low - headbutts for tall people? May need to raise the screen if it´s a problem.

Here´s how I´ve attached the projector. The bottom nut is there to prevent the bolts from going too deep in to the projector - they are fixed in place with chemical metal.

Yet another pic of the rear of the room. Other side surround in view - cables running up to ceiling are speaker cable plus VGA feed to the PJ - they´ll get trunked in some day. Power to the PJ runs via another route.

Two new chairs - our Christmas presents for each other. Oak and red leather - lovely! The colour actually goes better with the walls than it looks in the piccy.

The multicoated Hoya FL-D filter, which I got from www.2filter.com Took about 5 days from the US to the UK, and was cheaper than buying it from the UK.
